Let the Rats enjoy

Minister for Food & Agriculture (responsible for collection, safe storing and distribution of foodgrains to citizen) is enjoying sound sleep early morning. Suddenly he gets up after hearing some screeching sound…..goes outside bedroom but comes back running, screaming. He slams the door behind him………….thousands of Muskrats have gathered in the lawn, around his bungalow. Yes Muskrats not mice, everywhere, at every inch of his big house…….in white, black, yellow, blue, red, brown and pink colours.

He has never seen Muskrats of different colours in his life before. They are jumping, running here and there and making unusual noise. He again comes out slowly and screams for watchman but nobody is there. Suddenly Ronie, the 7 year old naughty son enters from the main gate wearing pied hat. Muskrats make way for him to enter as if he is their Master.

Ronie : Hi Dad, good morning.

Dad : Morning, what is this going on.........why so many rats have gathered here ?

Ronie : Don’t fear Dad, they are my friends, came from different countries to felicitate you.

Dad : Muskrats….your friends (very much surprised)……..to felicitate me, what for?

Ronie : You remember, last year we went for world tour.

Dad : Yes……so ?

Ronie : You were busy with meetings and conferences but I was free. There I made new friends……lovely creatures. They were in distress, I was in tears to see their pathetic condition, they were leading a miserable life with no food to eat.

Dad (surprised) : No food to eat……..in western countries !

Ronie : Yes Dad, believe me, it is true. Let me explain :-

Their system of storing foodgrain is so perfect and safe that it is impossible for any rats to sneak into their Warehouse and get even a single grain to eat. Due to this, rats who were fully dependent on foodgrains started dying. They were very much worried as they lost many of their close-relatives due to shortage of food and malnutrition. On the other hand, the wastage of foodgrains in FCI godowns always lured them to come to this country. They were looking for some kind person who could help them to come to our country. When they learned that I was visiting their country they contacted me and sought my help purely on compassionate ground.

They also told me that our country is great where thousands of people die of starvation but pigs, dogs, cows and birds have been enjoying millions of tonnes of foodgrain that is destroyed in FCI godowns every year due to inadequate storage facility. I thought why not I invite these poor creatures and let them enjoy great Indian tasty grains.

I assured them to extend all possible help. When I returned home, I fixed things and they all migrated to our country. After coming here, they settled well around FCI Godowns and are happy now as they are getting enough foodgrains which is lying open below the blue-sky.

Today they wanna felicitate you for this slackness. May I, on their behalf, seek your kind presence today evening in Oberoi Hotel please ?

SHUT UP
