Dog Strap

Foreign Minister is sitting comfortably at home with his wife and naughty son Ronie. They are casually discussing the incidence of radio collars forcibly strapped round the ankles of Indian students of a California University in US.

Ronie : How can they tag Indian students like a dog and our Government merely watching like a spectator ?

Dad : We are helpless…..can’t do much……..they’re working according to their laws.

Ronie : Oh I see……….but what the hell were you doing when they sneaked into US illegally……were you not alert ?

Dad : We were……but they managed somehow.

Ronie : You mean with the connivance of our Airport Authorities ?

SHUT UP......that's none of your business.

(Disclaimer : This is purely an imagination, any resemblance to past or present incidence is merely coincidence)

  3. Dear Bikramjit

This is in ref. to your posting "London Dreams" :-

With this eye opener, you’ve correctly described the status of poor Indians (rather misguided) who are looking West as their saviour but the scenario/situation there is miserable for Indians.

Gradually, West is slamming doors for Indians for the reason; they too have younger generation who are looking for good job at their birth-place and how can they allow intruders (Indians or Asians who are comparatively hard-worker than them) to snatch the jobs leaving them jobless ?

Well, that’s a different angle to think but frankly speaking growing population has its impact all over the world and U.K. is not isolated or odd one.

It certainly makes me laugh on those who treat our fertile country a rubbish and go for something which is never made for them. Shakespeare himself had once said, “Everything that glitter is not Gold.”

We got Independence just 60 years back and lot many things are to be done here which is not possible in just few years. We are on the path of progress; Computers, Softwares, Telecommunication, etc. etc. are the areas where we are doing marvellous. RTI has recently been introduced which has increased transparency in Government working which was otherwise considered secret. With alert RTI activists, every information is made public. Several corruption cases have been unearthed only with the help of RTI…….I am sure one day we’ll have corruption free country when RTI coupled with computerization, take full control on all aspects of our life.

With above, I would just like to say that we should not expect India to become UK or USA within few years but blending is taking place and we are marching on right path and one day our generation will see prospered country and this could happen only if we work hard today “APNE-GHAR-MAIN-BHI-HAI-ROTI”

I am very glad that your heart still throbs for Indian, thanks for writing wonderful article.

    Also thanks for nice comment.

    @ Irfanuddin

    Thanks Dear.

  4. Hi.. I did reply to the comment , I think we are confusing the issue here , I am not saying WHY they are coming ,, All i am saying is KNOW what awaits you when you come and get ur facts right and then make the decision ...

and we need to get out of this mentality that India or uk or usa .. world is becoming too small and boundaries dont matter anymore and every one has the right to go and earn a decent living as and how they feel ...

Thanks a lot AGK well whatever i am end of the day when someone asks me , i still answer i am indian.. thats never gonna change :)

thank you for the lovely comment I came over to read the whole thing :)

  6. In spite of the legal dimensions, this is certainly a human issue too. A fake university (already under investigation) keeps admitting students from abroad at high fees and manages to get visas for the students. Looks like the governments need to work a lot more efficiently on this issue than just putting these devices on the victims of a crime.

Hi, back after a long break ?........West has always lured East, I am not at all against them but why can’t we copy their “best” and “paste” here in order to look better. Anyway thanks for reading regularly and for your lovely comments. Ronie always speaks on your, my and our behalf, I’ll convey your feelings to him…….ha ha ha

    @ Bikramjit,
Thanks for coming back and explaining whole issue in its right perspective.

    @ Smart Indian
Our authentic agency/system should function in a way they are designed for in order to ensure safety/security to those going abroad whereas in this case, they have totally failed. In the past also, our Diplomats have been ill-treated at Airports. Our people have to be careful in future and take lesson from this incidence. Thanks for coming after a very very long time.

    @ Zeal
    Thanks for coming.
