School Bus

Ronie’s school is far away from his residence. He commutes daily by school bus which gets stuck up in traffic jam. He reaches school late very often and this makes his Principal stare at him fiercely for a fault he has not committed. His Dad, a Minister of Transport, is helpless. Today also, Ronie arrived School late and nearly missed Half Yearly Exams; he alongwith others, was also made to stand outside class for ten minutes. He decides to take up the issue with his Dad :-

I won’t go to School from tomorrow.

Why ?

My school bus gets stuck up daily in traffic jam and I reach school very late.

Ask your Driver to reach you in time.

How can he drive fast in congested road, there should be more Bus plying on the road that two wheelers.

Dad : (Cunningly) What are you talking, how’z it possible ?

You have been encouraging Industrialists to produce more and more two wheelers and this is what congesting our roads whereas your focus should’ve been to add more and more public transport as has been said by many Experts which would have reduced congestion on the roads. Don’t you know one bus puts nearly 500 motor-bikes off the road ?

You are right but if I do that, I’ll be off the office, therefore, SHUT YOUR BEAK, I’M MAKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR YOUR STAY IN SCHOOL HOSTEL FROM TOMORROW, U R BECOMING A HEADACHE FOR ME.

  1. No one has time and patience to listen to anyone . The little boy was giving the right solution of the problem but in vain.

    A sad state indeed !

  3. If only we give in a little time to listen to our kids and heed their advice without letting ego come in...we would have some marvelous options open to us...
