Brain Drain

Ronie a College Student, is talking to his Dad (a Minister for Education, who is worried over report that very large number of students from Southern part of country have gone to UK for higher studies in the past ten years).

Dad : It’s alarming.

Ronie : Why are you worried, don’t we have right to acquire higher education abroad ?

Dad : When the same is available here, why trying other option ?

Ronie (claps thrice) : Great Dad…..after injecting the element of “foreign” in our blood for a considerable period, you expect us to stick here forever ?

Dad : What do you mean ?

Ronie : When I was a child, didn’t you engage a babysitter for me ?

Dad (laughs) : Are you joking……….what a babysitter got to do with taking higher education abroad ?

Ronie : I am talking about new version of babysitter called “TV” which enabled you and Mom partying daily.

Dad : Oh I see……..

Ronie : I grew up under its close supervision which taught me to eat Pizza, Ham, Bacon, Sausages, Noodles and other junkies allowing no room for home-made eatables. I grew up drinking Coke, Pepsi, Mineral water and other useless drinks. I was repeatedly taught to use MNCs products, clothes etc. etc. I studied in western medium school, in other words, right from beginning I was brought up in a western culture. There was no one with me who could tell what was good for me or I should respect country made things. I don’t even know how to respect my age old tradition and cultures and preserve it. During these years, I was incessantly lured by my babysitter to use modern gadgets like Cellphone, iPod, Internet, Fax machines although these were useful but I became schizophrenic and confused about my identity.

Millions of other students like me grew up in same atmosphere and today we wanna go abroad not only for studying but also for a nice job and wonderful life thereafter as picturized for us since long by this babysitter. At this juncture, you expect us to forgo opportunity to go abroad……..today, our mindset is totally westernized and we don’t find anything worth attraction left here.

So Dad…….kindly don’t block our way.
